Cult Books

No, that doesn't say occult.

From that list, I've read:
  • Dune (and found it very inspirational)
  • Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galazy (and found it very funny)

And that's it! Somehow I thankfully escaped high school and college without reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "The Catcher in the Rye".

seen here and other places.

Oh, dear. I was delighted to see Terabyte, but then my smile faded when I read this blog. I loved To Kill a Mockingbird. Well, actually, I loved the movie. I call it a perfect gem. Have you seen it? It speaks to me on so many levels. The soundtrack is exquisite; I looked for the theme in piano music for years and found it recently - hurrah! So guess what I played on the piano several times this week?

Leave the book in the library. But run, don't stop, don't pass go, run out and find the film, and tell me what you think.

I forgot to add: Not reading "The Catcher in the Rye" is no loss. Also, even if folks don't like Harper Lee's book, they might still like the movie. For me the film was far superior to the book. It has magic and tenderness that the book lacked. But I'm thankful for the book because we wouldn't have had the film without it!
