July 25 Sky Watch Friday

This week we had a day where the sky started out pale blue and then this storm RUSHED in. I've rarely seen the sky darken so fast, from "out of the blue" as it were. Here's the edge of the storm:

Then after the leading edge there were these gorgeous clouds before the lightning and rain came.

"jasc paint shop pro 9 - one step photo fix" version of image directly above:
I love how the "fixed" version of the image brings out all these swirls and detailed layers..very turbulent.

Thanks for stopping by my post for this week's Sky Watch Friday. Please visit other participants by going here.

Wonderful photos! I agree the swirls and tubulence create such diverse images. The cloud sequence is great! Happy SWF!

Wonderful Cloud pictures- aren't they just amazing when a storm is rolling in? Thanks for visiting my Skywatch post!

I just love stirm clouds and yours look exciting. I think Dolly gifted the eastern seaboard and eastern states with damaged-free storm cloud formations. I especially like it when the sky turns dark in an instant. Happy Skywatching!

Welcome to my world - you could be living here. Our summer has been one big storm after another! Great transitional shots of the storm.

Those are awesome clouds. I love watching storms come in.

When I try the 'one step photo fix' I'm usually not happy with the results, and change it right back. It really did a good job on your photo, though. I'm going to have to try it on some of my stormy cloud photos, just to see what I get.

That edge of the storm photo is great as are these "fixed" versions.

Storm clouds make the most interesting photographs. You did an excellent job capturing the action. I don't go anywhere without my camera now that I live on the prairie. Thanks for checking out my Sky Watch Friday shot.

Great entry for SkyWatch! Last one is my favourite. Very dramatic. And cool that a sky can look so beautiful in black and white! :)
