Stargate SG-1: Siren Song

This is a brief review of Stargate SG-1 "Siren Song" by Holly Scott & Jaimie Duncan, which I posted on Amazon today:

This book takes place sometime after Daniel Jackson has become mortal again and while Jack O'Neill is still a Colonel. At first I loved how this book gave us a new story with bounty hunter Aris Boch...there are so many worlds and story lines in the TV series that never get more than one chance. However, this book is not as well written as others in the series. The action starts out pretty good, but then gets really bogged down in the middle. The ending wraps up without us learning anything concrete about the entire point of the book... what was that technology that put them in so much danger? Was it indeed destroyed? Did Aris Boch's world successfully defeat the Goa'uld and live to see another day? All unanswered questions. I loved that part of the story was from Sam Carter's point of view, but all of the characters were a bit off. The dialog was pretty good, but the thoughts in their heads didn't seem quite right. Overall, I would say that you could skip this one without really missing anything.

I didn't know there were Stargate books. Actually, I'm not very familiar with the series, either. It's the one with Richard Dean Anderson, right? Don't know if I got the name; we all know him as McGyver (sp)./ Talked with your mom on the phone today. Fun. Great lady. Great family!

Hey Marmee, yeah Stargate was Anderson's most recent TV series. He actually left the show 2 years before it was canceled last year after 10 seasons. I've never seen much McGyver.
