Louisville, Kentucky

In September I went to Louisville, KY, for a conference. Here's a few highlights. In general, we prefer to eat at Wendy's when doing road marathons. Mom and I both thought this sign was fun:

Other food highlights include eating at "The Old Spaghetti Factory" for lunch with Dad. We sat in a trolly car inside the restaurant:
We all went out to a fabulous German restaurant one night. Nice gerndals hanging on the walls, some cute German sayings on plaques, and really good food.We stayed at the Downtown Marriott, which is across the street from the Louisville Convention Center. Here's one of the impressive art chandeliers in the hotel lobby:
Every city has to have at least one phallus sky scraper. This one belongs to Louisville, and the dome is lit at night. Green, if I recall correctly:
My poor digital camera has the hardest time with the pinks and peaches of sunset. This picture just does not do it justice, but I wanted to put it up anyway because I alos love the sky-shadows that the sun is casting through the clouds...such a neato atmospheric effect.
