Egads. What is this, a monthly column???

Today's stupid news article on CNN:
Study: Female gamers outnumber boys

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Challenging the stereotype that video gaming is the domain of teenage boys, an industry group Tuesday reported that more women over 18 than young boys are playing games and the average age of players has risen to 29.

You can prove ANYTHING with statistics and this article is one shred of proof. The most common way is to compare apples and oranges. And that's what we're doing here. More women over the age of 18 are playing games than boys between the ages of 6-17? So???

If you read farther, you discover (if you read carefully, that is) that when comparing apples to apples (boys to girls aged 6-17), 21% of boys aged 6-17 play computer games while only 12% of girls aged 6-17 play computer games.

So much for that headline ... its not nearly as shocking. So why tell the truth when you can lie?
